About Legal Advocacy

Legal systems can be overwhelming — but survivors should never face them alone. Haven’s legal advocates provide information, emotional support, and accompaniment through court processes related to domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and protective orders. We do not give legal advice or act as attorneys — instead, we stand beside survivors to help them understand their options and assert their rights with confidence.

What We Help With

Practical Support Through Legal Processes

Our legal advocacy services focus on safety, understanding, and empowerment. Advocates can assist with paperwork, attend hearings, and coordinate with court personnel — always at the survivor’s direction.

Why It Matters

Justice Is Not Meant to Be Faced Alone

For many survivors, seeking legal protection is a critical step toward safety — yet the process can be intimidating and retraumatizing. Legal advocacy ensures survivors are seen, heard, and supported, helping them move forward with clarity and courage.

Having someone beside you in court can make all the difference.
